{"name":"New York City, 1978 (#1)","created_by":"Joel Meyerowitz","description":"\"Perhaps the greatest icon of the twentieth century is the Empire State Building. With it was born the term ‘Skyscraper.’ The word itself has the charm of a Native American chant. This building is to New York as Mt. Fuji is to Japan; mythic, constant, yet ever-changing. The Empire State Building is the pylon around which I turned during this particular photographic inquiry. From river to river, from Harlem to the Battery, I looked at the connection between ordinary life down on the streets and skyscraper. I wanted to see if, as in Hokusai's prints of Mt. Fuji, there might be a connection between the humble daily lives of the inhabitants and this majestic form. \n\nIf you ask a question then you must be prepared for any answers that arise. The Mt. Fuji question is really me asking, in photographic terms: What happens when one uses a nominal subject, such as the Empire State Building, as a lever to lift a hidden, larger subject onto the plane of visibility? These photographs are the answers\". - Joel Meyerowitz\n\nEdition: 1 of 1","attributes":[{"trait_type":"Artist","value":"Joel Meyerowitz"},{"trait_type":"Collection","value":"Empire State"},{"trait_type":"Year","value":"1978"},{"trait_type":"Property","value":"Exterior"},{"trait_type":"Edition","value":"1 of 1"},{"trait_type":"Medium","value":"Non-Fungible Token"},{"trait_type":"File Size","value":"3191 × 4000 px (2.7 MB)"},{"trait_type":"Location","value":"New York City"},{"trait_type":"License","value":"© Joel Meyerowitz"},{"trait_type":"Copyright","value":"© Joel Meyerowitz 2022 All Rights Reserved"}],"image_details":{"bytes":2746727,"format":"JPEG","sha256":"cbf99c91969855d3affc422326ae5f6ec9fac5d36ba5999f1f7a959e4438159f","width":3191,"height":4000},"image":"https://arweave.net/unozi67DVvtLtDQOUqLxwbeFjm3d9RPHrkOiOGE2vZM","image_url":"https://arweave.net/unozi67DVvtLtDQOUqLxwbeFjm3d9RPHrkOiOGE2vZM"}
